End Games

Now that the Zombie Apocalypse is over, humanity must construct a new future for itself. Or in our case, study for finals. You all have been a wonderful group to work with and the Game has evolved greatly from this week's activities.  I hope y'all enjoyed yourself as much as we did, and that you'll be the vanguard for next year's Game. We'll be having a meeting Tuesday (5-28) so you can return bandanas and we can talk about what we liked, what we didn't like, and what genius ideas struck you that simply must be added to the game. Get plenty of sleep and plenty of fun between now and the end of the school year. Y'all have a great summer and take care.

The Results

These are the standings for the end of Zombies: Uprising.
Again, these are accurate to the best of our knowledge. Not as many people as we'd hoped have commented on these posts, so this is what we have:

1st place with 23 points: Nathan Garcia
2nd place with 17 points: Greyson Bourgeois
3rd place with 16 points: Abel Chavez

4th place with 15 points: Blair Creedle Reynolds
5th place with 14 points: Ms.Earnhart
6th place with 13 points: Caleb Garcia
7th place with 12 points: Barbara Falcon
8th place with 11 points: Jules, Amber
9th place with 10 points: Noe, Matthew, Brittanie
10th place with 8 points: Jeanne-Jo, Gabe
11th place with 7 points: Yineng, Joseph, Tempra
12th place with 6 points: James, Ximone, Vincente

If you are not up here, better luck next time. Understand that if you joined later during the week, it's doubtful that you made the list. Thankfully, we'll probably be doing this again next year.
In any case, you all were great players and it was fun.

Congratulations and a happy apocalypse to all!

Lots of people today. Lots of zombies too. This is the finale, guys. In the spirit of YOLO, Zombie wars has begun. Do everything that you would have done in the first few days, use up your perks, kill that one annoying zombie that you didn't get a chance to earlier this week.

And also come to the final ZAST meeting, Tuesday, during lunch for a wrap up of the game. Thanks for playing!(insert coin?)

Survivor Perk 3

By popular demand, perk number 3 is a point for every zombie you kill. This may be a standard of next year, but for now it will only be limited to those who survived today. Perks are cumulative, so long as a human hasn't been zombified between the time they gained the perk and when they employ it. A human with Perk 3 that gets zombified tomorrow will loose the 5 points from surviving, but not the points from killing zombies.

PS. Zombies are fairly resilient, they only have to tag the bandana area as opposed to humans needing to pull the bandana itself. If you plan to go zombie hunting, try to form a group and attack in strength.

Thursday Updates

A few changes have been made as of today that you guys should know about.

1) Technically, the rules say that after 8:10 AM, you are safe. That's because Caleb made an inconsistency in the rulebook, not realizing class starts at 8:15 AM. Those of you that were zombified during this time, it still counts, except for Blair, who brought the error to our attention before being attacked. This has since been fixed: Survivors are fair game all morning.

2) The rules say that the game is inactive during "class". This is kind of unclear. Since survivors and zombies alike have been pushing it right up until class starts, this is an issue. Survivors consider themselves immune during class-time and wait out their attackers, walking safely to class after it's started. We don't want people being late to class over a game, or it may get some...negative attention from administration. So if you're a survivor, don't bother trying to outlast zombies by being late. Tomorrow, you are only safe during class time if you are actually make it to your classroom. If class starts and you are not in class, you're fair game, so suck it up and take it. You can die, or you can die and get to class late.

3) This rule is sort of already in effect, but for you guys who would like to know, here it is. For every 20 people, there is 1 starting zombie. For every +10 participants after that, there will be +1 zombies. Since we've hit the 40 mark(which is awesome btw), there will be 3 starting zombies tomorrow.

DAY 3

Looks like it was a good day for the zombies. Excellent work, all you undead people. Brag about it here.
Same for you survivors who managed to avoid almost certain death.

Also. ALL ZOMBIES. YOU GET 1 POINT FOR EVERY ZOMBIE KILL YOU MAKE. IF YOU DON'T RECORD IT, WE CAN'T GIVE IT TO YOU. So please post.

Survivor Perk 2

The first Survivor Perk was an extra life.
For the individuals who survived both today and yesterday, that perk is carrying over with you. **coughBlaircough**  It was decided perks will be cumulative, but can only be used once.

For today's survivors, there is a lot of you.  We're not gonna give y'all second lives, but instead, one bullet.  While rummaging for food in a deserted house, you found a revolver that someone was fixing to play Russian Roulette with, then left.  You line the bullet with the chamber, then head back out into the zombie infested world.

The mechanics of the bullet are as follows.  Extend your arm, pointing a finger gun at a particular Zombie. Complete with sound effects and motions, shoot the zombie.  THIS DOES NOT KILL THE ZOMBIE.  Shooting a zombie does NOT remove the zombie from the game.  What it does do is keep the zombie from tagging you.  For all intents and purposes, that zombie is dead TO YOU and only you.  They can't tag you and you can't eliminate them.  Your relationship is reduced to Survivor and Non-participant.  The zombie is free to chase or be killed by whoever else they please, they just can't tag you.

Remember, you only get one bullet, so pick which zombie to shoot wisely.  Your arm must be fully extended, and clearly pointing at the zombie('s head), gutshots don't work on zombies.  You know how pistol duels used to go down?  Think of those and assume that position.
Bang.

Update Wednesday

OK, I lied about rule changes.  Well, only partly, they're not earth-shattering.
3 clarifications:
1) Anyone who wants to join the game in the middle of the day starts as a zombie.  Some individuals joined impromptu, which strictly speaking they ought not to, but we're an accepting bunch of people.
2) Secondly, there will now be a second original zombie in response to the population boom.
3)Thirdly, original/starter zombies can't be eliminated from the game till they have zombified at least one individual, this is simply so the game isn't terminated before it starts.  However, if you do pull the bandana of an starter zombie before they have spread the disease, YOU cannot be zombified by that individual for the rest of the day.

DAY 2

Congratulations on Day 2, guys. Day 2 ran much smoother than yesterday, thank you all for that.  In particular, we would like to thank those of you who killed zombies, there were many more survivors today.

Post your kills from the day here, zombies.
Or survivors, declare yourself to still be alive and laugh in their faces.

Our number of registered participants has shot up from 20 to 30. This thing's going viral. Pun intended this time. There's a good chance that the game will air next year since these past few days have been a success.
Thank you all for being so awesome.

Update Tuesday

• First and foremost, remember no running for the undead.  While most zombies were good about this, there were a few that in the excitement of the hunt gave full chase. Remember that decomposing limbs aren't the best for sprinting.
• Secondly, lunch lines are safe. While the person is carrying their food from the line, they are safe.  Once they sit down, begin eating, or leave the cafeteria (or 12:00, which ever comes sooner) their safety is no longer assured.  However, everyone has the right to obtain cafeteria food in peace; hanging on to that peace is a different matter.
• Reminder- The game is not going to be played during advisory, nor the passing period before or after.
• By popular demand, pulling a zombie's bandana kills them FOR THE REST OF THE DAY.  Assassinating a zombie requires that you undoubtedly jerk a tail, since some knots don't come undone nicely.  Tagging a zombie from a safe zone will only deactivate them for that time period.
• Puppy-guarding a door.  While you can camp out the classroom, zombies can't stand in the doorway, thats just cheap.  Try to stay a body length away from the center of the door to give humans a fighting chance to enter.
• Zombies that are dead or deactivated should wear their bandana around their neck or head.  This maintains visibility without being a threat to survivors.
• The game goes by so fast we're doing rounds.  We'll be operating on a POINT SYSTEM.  Survive to the end of the day, get 5 points.  Each human you zombify, one point.  You're not doing too bad, my current score is 0.
• Also, the Fatality Report is now obsolete, we'll be using the blog to keep track.

Thank you all for being so cooperative, I know there are a lot of rules and updates.

DAY 1

People are dying all over the place. You know that people are saying "so and so" got killed and there was this awesome take down here or there? Yeah. This is for clarification. Zombies have the opportunities to brag on their kills here. If a zombie doesn't post, the survivor may not be considered a zombie when we tally up the day.
These are the zombies.
These are their stories.
Comment with the information: Zombie name killed Survivor name during Period of time(Lunch, passing period 1/3, etc.) at the end of your story.

If you tagged or killed a zombie, you can post here in pretty much the same format.
(tagging means a literal tag from a safe zone, killing means a bandanna pull)
